perceptions about schools around the country. supporters say today's loss doesn't take any of that away. you could hear the crowd's enthusiasm, but in the end all the support was not enough. the owls fell behind in the third quarter and never caught up closing their most successful regular season in memory with a loss. >> it's disappointing but i'm still proud of them. still proud of them for sure. >> we did really well up until this point. i thought this game we didn't play our best. >> in the crowd today fans showed their cherry colored temple pride literally from head to toe. these special temple shoes perhaps the most unusual show of support. >> this season has been magical. >> senior temple coleman was among many ga that said they never could imagine seeing the team do this well or boosting campus moral in the way that it has for the past few months. >> i would never imagine coming in here four years ago as a

right now, what a great day to be outside for a watch party or anything else. the temperatures are going to be dipping tonight. first alert meteorologist brittney shipp is here with that chilly first forecast. brittney. >> temperatures in the 40s, a cold night ahead in the morning. we will see a cold start to sunday. temperatures are above average and going to stay that way for the next couple of days. right now our temperatures are already in the 40, 47 degrees in philadelphia, 36 in pottstown, 40 in allentown, 48 poconos, 45 wilmington, low 40s for dover. our city planner shows the rest of the night you'll need a jacket. temperatures in the low 40s by 8:00, by 11:00, 40 degrees. overnight drop down once again into the 30s, even 20s for suburbs to the north and west. our satellite radar shows quiet conditions. our conditions are going to stay nice and quiet. in fact, if i widen the picture, i'll show you we're not tracking any storms in the future. i'll go over more details in the

drive pattern, how long it will stick around, how long temperatures will stay above average. that's coming up in our seven-day forecast. >> a philadelphia couple is in the hospital tonight being treated for carbon monoxide exposure. fire investigators say victims had been using an oven to heat their home. fire crews responded to the dangerous fumes around 1:30 this morning. the victims, an 87-year-old man and 86-year-old woman are being treated at the hospital. new information in this deadly house fire in northampton county. crews responded to the home along old carriage road in northampton before 6:00 last night. it took more than two hours to get that fire under control. a 72-year-old woman identified as joann stefanek found dead inside. the cause of the fire, cooking left unattended. teaming up with no more fire

deaths this holiday season. they are trying it spread awareness of dried out christmas tre trees, candles and holiday lights. the philadelphia fire department has installed more than 3100 smoke alarms but there's still more work to be done. >> i actually tell people if you want to give a lifesaving gift this year, donate a fire alarm. >> the partnerships cut the number of fire deaths in philadelphia from 31 to 12. that's a reduction of 60%. it set the record for the lowest number of fire deaths ever in a single year. in south jersey, two people trapped in this car that went into a camden county lake are expected to be okay. police tell us the car driver lost control and ran off the road around 3:45 this morning. it hit a tree and then rolled into the cooper river lake in collingswood. half of the car sank below the surface. the woman inside was rescued and

the driver got out on his own. today isis is calling the two shooters in the attack in california supporters and martyrs. it's the first time the islamic state responded to the terror attack that leaves 14 dead and 20 hurt. nbc national correspondent jay gray has the latest tonight from california. >> reporter: as the memorial grows outside the inland regional center, so does the terror investigation in san bernardino. >> the investigation so far has developed indications of radicalization by the killers and of potential inspiration by foreign terrorist organizations. today isis called syed rizwan farook and tashfeen malik supporters and hailed them as martyrs but stopped short of claiming responsibility for the attack. >> we know isil and other terrorist groups are actively encouraging people around the world and in our country to commit terrible acts of violence, oftentimes as lone

new information about a fight in center city that ended in two men stabbed. police say the victims arguing with third man at 13th and walnut. the suspect pulled a knife and stabbed the other two men. they are in critical condition.

the suspect got away. super storm sandy victims get another chance to apply for low interest loans. they can get up to $200,000 to repair or rebuild their homes. loans up to $40,000 for damaged or lost items. outreach centers monday in atlantic, monmouth and bergen counties. this weekend one montgomery county church is celebrating the 150th anniversary of the end of slavery in america. the church kicked off its celebration today with living history encounters and a gospel choir. center peace of the weekend a permanent exhibition called old york road to freedom which features a replica of an underground railroad station. some holiday help for children who have nowhere to call home. see how a school bus is being stuffed full of joy next. i'm tracking another nice day for us. temperatures will stay a little above average.

lots of people out picking christmas trees this weekend. one montgomery county fire encouraging to buy a tree for military families. christmas trees doing trees for troops program for the ninth year this holiday season. the farm is donating 50 trees to start things off. then customers can come in and purchase more trees for military families at a discounted price of $35. >> makes a nice chance for us to say thank you and we support you for the service that they are giving us. >> buster's is part of a nationwide program with a goal of donating even more of the 18,000 trees shipped last year to every branch of the military. well, today some doylestown

businesses stuffing a bus full of toys. monkey's uncle teamed up with toy box for a toy drive today. the joy is to spread joy to children at local shelters. boxes are filled with toys and books and given to kids up to age 18. >> they have come out in full force to support us and open their hearts to give toys to the kids in need. operation birthday box, five area shelters in doylestown, millsville, bensalem. runners dressed like santa and his reindeer crossed finish line for jingle bell run for arthritis. the race happened at the navy yard. aimed at finding a cure for arthritis, the nation's leading

cause of disability. a very special toy delivery in montgomery county today, the ambulance and police department hosted a sixth annual operation christmas kids toy run. they deliver presents to pediatric unit of bryn mawr hospital. police motorcycle, fire engines and ambulances pulled up to the lobby with lights and sirens going to drop off those toys. >> announcer: now your nbc 10 first alert weather with meteorologist brittney shipp. >> good evening. hopefully you enjoyed the start to the weekend, dry conditions, sunshine, continue to see above average temperatures as we head into tomorrow even for the start of the workweek. we are seeing cold nights and that's going to give usa cold start to the morning so temperatures stay pretty much in the 30s throughout morning hours. we're also tracking a dry stretch so we don't see another chance of showers, not even the seven-day forecast. so that's a pretty nice start to december. philadelphia at 47 degrees.

clear skies, the air is calm at 63%. feels like temperature at 47 as well because the area is calm. temperature-wise 43 and 38 in mount holly, already a cold night ahead. atlantic city 43, temperatures 41 in redding and 40 degrees currently in lancaster. we are seeing above average but as soon as the sun goes down temperatures are dropping quickly. satellite radar shows quiet conditions. we're barely seeing clouds. clear skies once again and that helps contribute to how cold it's going to get. we're definitely tracking a dry pattern and that's going to stay for the next few days at least. above average temperatures, that's all due to the area of high pressure that's right over our region. so here's our future weather, nice and dry throughout the rest of the weekend into most of next week. we have this area of high pressure so that's going to give us sunny skies and clear

conditions and milder temperatures. so expect tomorrow to be a little bit warmer than what we saw today, definitely above average, which is 48 for this time of year. we ended the workweek above average, today above average for us. as we head into tomorrow, 56 degrees. so today's high was officially 51 at the airport. will be about 5 degrees warmer heading into tomorrow. some locations will even be up to 10 degrees above that average. drop down into the 20s for lehigh valley, suburbs north and west of philadelphia. philadelphia will get down to 34 degrees. that's going to give way to a cold start for tomorrow morning. keep that in mind making brunch plans or church plans at 7:00 a.m., 43 for philadelphia, low 30s in places like trenton, 30 in allentown. as we progress the model around the lunchtime hour, we will push into the low 50s. we won't stop there, actually go to the mid-50s tomorrow. 56 high for philadelphia, 53 for
